Managing policies

By setting policies via security.manager NEXT you are able to control the visibility of layers, objects and attributes of map services.

First you have to adjust the access rights for a service’s shared properties in ArcGIS Enterprise. Read more about it in section Sharing in ArcGIS Enterprise, to learn how sharing properties affect the policy enforcement on certain groups.

You have two possibilities to manage policies in security.manager NEXT:

  • Manage policies of individual services in the Browser by using the Manager UI.

  • Synchronize a local working directory containing policies of multiple services by using the CLI.
