Managing policies

By setting policies via security.manager NEXT you are able to control the visibility of layers, objects and attributes of map services.

First you have to define who is granted access to a service in ArcGIS Enterprise, independent of security.manager NEXT. Read section Sharing in ArcGIS Enterprise, to learn how granting service access to different user groups affects policy enforcement.

You have two possibilities to manage policies in security.manager NEXT:

  • Manage policies of individual services in the Browser by using the Manager UI.

  • Synchronize a local working directory containing policies of multiple services by using the CLI.
