Managing policies using the Manager UI

Policies can be applied using the Manager UI. The Manager UI is accessible at https://<tomcat-host>/secman-next. Managing policies for a certain service works as follows:

  1. Open the Manager UI. Log in with an administrative account, and select the Service Manager tab.

  2. Navigate to the service you want to create policies for. In the Folders column you can limit the displayed services to the selected folder.

  3. Check that security.manager NEXT is activated for the service. This is indicated by a security.manager NEXT enabled symbol.
    Otherwise, click on the security.manager NEXT disabled symbol to activate security.manager NEXT. In this case, the service will restart.

  4. To edit the policies, click on Edit permissions.

  5. Enter or modify a JSON policy in the dialog.+ Alternatively you can drag and drop an existing JSON file including a valid policy onto the dialog.

    Once you are done click on Save changes and restart.
