Release Notes 2.2
What’s New
This release contains a number of functional innovations as well as updates to the basic technology.
Support Apache Solr 8.11.1
Apache Solr is supported in version 8.11.1. The indexes of previous versions can still be used.
Search
With this version, the new search function of map.apps is used as the standard search function. For this purpose, the API provided by map.apps and the interface elements are integrated via the corresponding bundles (search-ui
and search-api
) in the default app and the datastores. In this way, the search can be performed directly against several indexes and the results displayed as a whole.
It is still possible to use the Omnisearch Bundles. For this we have provided the app full-screen-map-omnisearch
.
Improved default apps
We have cleaned up the default apps and created more space. The tools Open job manager and Show result list have been removed from the map and are now accessible at the following places: a new hamburger menu now opens a sidebar that contains the job manager as a tool and provides space for other tools.
The results list can be opened and closed via a button in the status bar.
Improvements in the Job Manager
There are a number of improvements in the job manager. An indexing job can now be started directly after completion.
Using the Refresh button, it is now possible to query the state of the jobs from the server again.
In addition, there is improved feedback when testing URLs in the course of job creation.
Renaming of Web Archives
In the course of standardising the structure of the con terra products, we have adapted the names of the web archives. The names of the delivered Javascript bundles have been kept.

No special settings need to be considered. The existing indexes can be used with the version.
Discontinued support
The following features are discontinued with this release:
-
Java 8 — With this version, running map.apps with Java JRE 8 is no longer supported. We recommend using Java 17.
